Julie Goldberg
Co-founder and CTO
Julie Goldberg is the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Tech Gazelles, where she empowers organizations to leverage technology for sustainability. This is her second time cofounding a tech-for-good business.
Her passion for software engineering goes back over three decades. She took her first programming class as a high school freshman, and she took a Harvard University computer science course with their undergrads in her senior year. Julie earned her BA in Computer Science and Linguistics from Cornell University. After graduation, she worked as a software engineer at MIT Lincoln Laboratories. In 2000, she relocated to Seattle to pursue a master’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Washington. Julie spent the last two decades building web applications for Democrats and their progressive allies in the United States. In 2013, Julie co-founded Empower Engine, providing data visualizations of Democratic campaign data. After its successful merger with stac labs in 2021, she stayed for three years. Recognizing the urgency of environmental challenges, she recently shifted her focus to global sustainability and co-founded Tech Gazelles. Julie’s career reflects her dedication to leveraging technology for meaningful, positive change.

Livia Toanca is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tech Gazelles, where she masterfully blends strategic business leadership with commitment to building a better future. With over two decades of executive experience, Livia has consistently driven transformative growth by aligning operational excellence with sustainable practices.
As the former Chief Operating Officer of Derma E, North America’s leading natural skincare brand, Livia demonstrated that a sustainability-driven strategy can be a powerful growth accelerator. She led an award-winning rebranding initiative that strengthened brand positioning, expanded retail distribution, and fueled rapid market expansion. Under her leadership, the company achieved a significant increase in profitability, proving that sustainable business practices can drive both competitive advantage and accelerated financial performance.
Livia’s expertise extends across operations, finance, supply chain management, regulatory compliance, and data analytics, giving her a unique ability to navigate complex business landscapes..
Livia holds a PhD in Business and Strategic Management and earned advanced degrees from UCLA and the University Robert Schuman in Strasbourg, France. Her blend of academic rigor and real-world experience has made her an expert in transforming complex systems into efficient, sustainable operations.
